Clare County Council Seeks Community Voices for New Safety Partnership
Clare County Council is inviting individuals and organisations to express their interest in joining the newly established Clare Local Community Safety Partnership (LCSP), a collaborative initiative under the Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024.
The Clare LCSP will bring together residents, community groups, public services, an Garda Síochána and other stakeholders to identify and address local safety concerns. Its aim is to ensure that community voices are heard and that services work in partnership to keep Clare a safe and welcoming place to visit and to live and work in.
Ashlene Reyburn, Coordinator, Local Community Safety Partnership, said, “As Coordinator of the Clare Local Community Safety Partnership, I’m excited to invite our community to play an active role in shaping the future of local safety and wellbeing. This initiative is about listening to diverse voices, including residents, community groups, and key stakeholders, while working together to develop practical solutions that make Clare a safer, more inclusive place for everyone. I encourage individuals and organisations with a passion for community safety to submit an Expression of Interest and help us create a Local Community Safety Plan that reflects the needs and strengths of the county.”
The Clare LCSP will develop and implement a three-year Local Community Safety Plan and will host public meetings and consultations to gather input from the community. The partnership will coordinate multi-agency responses to safety issues and promote community engagement and empowerment throughout the county.
Membership of the Clare LCSP is voluntary. Members are expected to attend four quarterly meetings per year, as well as one public meeting and one closed meeting for elected representatives. Additional participation in subgroups or working groups may be required depending on the member’s area of expertise or interest.
Expressions of Interest (EOI) are invited from individuals and organisations under two categories. To apply via the Clare LCSP Coordinator, individuals may express interest in representing one of the following categories: youth; education; business; farming; or older persons.
Interested parties should complete and submit an EOI form, which can be done online, via: https://yoursay.clarecoco.ie/clare-lcsp or requested by email from: lcsp@clarecoco.ie. Forms not completed online should be returned to: Clare LCSP Coordinator, C/O Rural & Community Directorate, Clare County Council, Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis, Co. Clare. The deadline for submissions is: 4pm, Monday, October 13, 2025.
To apply via Clare Public Participation Network (PPN), community representatives may express interest in representing: local residents or social inclusion groups, including the Travelling Community; new/minority communities; persons with disabilities; the LGBTQI+ community; and those experiencing social or economic disadvantage. EOI forms can be completed online via: https://clareppn.ie. Applicants must be members of a group registered with Clare PPN. The deadline for submissions is: 4pm, Monday, October 13, 2025.
